KJo feels sorry after getting trolled for insulting Northeast headgear

Karan Johar became the latest celebrity to face online trolling after he ended up hurting the religious sentiments of Northeast people, albeit unintentionally. Well, we are talking about an Instagram video which he shared from the sets of India's Got Talent 8, which he hosts.

In the video, Karan was seen laughing at Kirron Kher for wearing a spiked bamboo Arunachalee hat by saying, "oh my god, what is that on your head?" When Kirron said, "People from Arunachal Pradesh have brought it for me and they have got this for you. Why are you not wearing your hat," Karan quipped, "Because you have guts, I don't."

What's more, KJo did not stop there and further stretched the joke saying, "You are looking you are going to break into some kind of qawwali." Hearing this, Kirron got irked and said, "How can I break into a qawwali in a bamboo hat. What's wrong with you? You don't know the states of this country." But soon after Karan posted the video, he was trolled for being so insensitive and insulting the Northeast culture and the traditional headgears.

However, Karan issued a public apology on Wednesday and issued a public apology by stating that he has pulled down the video from Instagram. The filmmaker further admitted that "it was purely unintentional and came from a place of no knowledge which is absolutely no excuse."
