Akshara Haasan files FIR after her private pictures get leaked online

Kamal Haasan's younger daughter, Akshara Hassan, became the latest victim of cyber crime when her private pictures got leaked online. Now days after the incident created a huge stir, the actress filed an official complaint with the Versova police on Sunday.

A report in Mumbai Mirror quoted a police officer as saying, "An FIR under relevant sections of the Information Technology Act was registered on her complaint against unknown suspect. The police is now trying to track the origin of the pictures to trace the suspect." As per sources quoted by the daily, Akshara has told the police that she had noticed that some of her private pictures on social media, further stating that someone could be trying to harass her.

Meanwhile, the police official has also pointed out that, "The cybercrime cell of the Mumbai police have been conducting a parallel probe in the matter and are trying to track down the IP address from where the pictures were initially shared on the internet to reach the culprit."

For the unversed, Akshara had previously claimed that the leaked pictures were not hers and they had been doctored. However, she later admitted to the same with a statement on Twitter, which read as, "Recently, some of my private pictures were leaked on the internet. Who did this, or why, is not known to me yet. But what I do know is that it is deeply unfortunate to make a young girl the victim of such an act only for a pervert mind's enjoyment"
