Throughout the years Bollywood's one of the most beloved singer and trend-setter Shaan has received immense love and respect from his fans. However, while the singer was performing for a private concert in Guwahati's Sarusajai stadium on October 29, the acclaimed singer was struck with paper balls and stones during the concert for singing a Bengali song.

Amidst the chaos, a video of people shouting "this is Assam and not Bengal" was circulated on social media. The footage also featured Shaan saying "Don't make this political. Never do this with an artist."

Subsequently, the singer stopped his performance and walked off through the backstage. He also informed the audience that he was performing despite having a fever. But, Shaan returned the stage at the request of the organisers.

Thereupon, addressing the issue a fan appologized Shaan through his Twitter handle, to which Shaan's Tweet read "My outcry was not directed to that One Individual but to all who are harbouring these 'Regional Devide' Sentiments!! The Youth must not fall into this trap #StayUnited,"
