Godrej Properties in talks to buy Bollywood's Iconic RK Studio!

RK Studio is one of the Bollywood's most iconic and vintage studios in the bustling streets of the city. The studio which was built by Raj Kapoor back in 1948, is known to hold many emotional ties with the Kapoor family as well as many directors and producers in the industry.

Although, earlier this year, the Kapoor family revealed that the studio was up for sale. According to the reports from DNA, the family in talks with Godrej properties for the sale of iconic RK studios in Chembur. A public notice was issued by a legal firm yesterday on behalf of the siblings Randhir Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor, Rajiv Kapoor, Ritu Nanda and Rima Jain with regards to the title of the property which is being investigated.

Although, the Kapoor family revealed that the studio was up for sale. According to the reports from DNA, the family in talks with Godrej properties for the sale of iconic RK studios in Chembur. A public notice was issued by the legal firm, yesterday on behalf of the siblings Randhir Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor, Rajiv Kapoor, Ritu Nanda and Rima Jain with regards to the title of the property which is being investigated.

A closed source revealed that the negotiations with Godrej Properties are in the final stages as an investigation of ownership rights among the Kapoor siblings is in the process and the property shall be registered. However, during an interaction with DNA, Randhir avoided to mention Godrej Properties as the buyers and the family is negotiating the deal with three to four people, and the process will be finalized within a month.

Adding to it, Godrej's representative revealed: "As a matter of company policy, we do not comment on market speculation."         

The source also mentioned, that negotiations are at Rs 170-190 crore, while the market rate is close to Rs 150 crore-Rs 20 to 40 crore is the premium attached to the iconic land parcel measuring 9,018.85 sqmt.
