REVEALED: Ranveer Singh - Kareena Kapoor's role in Karan's next Takht

Karan Johar today morning announced his next directorial titled 'Takht' a period drama film. With an ensemble and supremely talented cast, this film remains one of the most anticipated one in the history of Bollywood.

The pairing of what everyone was waiting for was finally brought on the silver screens by KJo himself. Yes, we are talking about Ranveer Singh and Kareena Kapoor. These two fabulous celebrities are a star in their own capacity and are finally working together.

While few contemplated that the two will romance on the big screens but this reportedly is not the case. If a report in Bollywood Life is to be believed then Kareena Kapoor and Ranveer Singh will be playing siblings in this film. Further, this movie is based on a chapter from the Mughal Empire's regime.

The report further adds, "Kareena will be seen playing the role of the First Lady of the Mughal Empire, Jahanara Begum. She was the daughter of Emperor Shah Jahan and Mumtaz Mahal. Her brothers were Crown prince Dara Shikoh and Emperor Aurangzeb".

Speaking of Bebo, the actress who is a Begum in real life as well as she married Saif Ali Khan (The Nawab of Pataudi) pulling off this character won't be tough for her!

Meanwhile, we guess then Ranveer Singh might play the role of Aurangzeb as some other reports also suggest that the enthusiastic actor is likely to play the ruthless ruler Aurangzeb. Be it whichever character, we believe that Ranveer will put his best foot forward.

By now Ranveer has aced these historical characters as he previously starred in three historical drama films. His last outing as the menacing Turkish ruler Alauddin Khilji in SLB's 'Padmaavat' is already touted as the performance of a lifetime.

About 'Takht', apart from Ranveer and Kareena, this film also stars Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Anil Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar and Janhvi Kapoor.
