Late actress Sridevi honoured with an award at Cannes 2018, BUT...

Recently, a few days back there was a buzz about the news that the late actress will be honoured at the Cannes film festival for her contribution to the Indian Cinema.

And yesterday, Cannes Film Festival honoured late Sridevi with a special salute to the actress at the Titan Reginald F Lewis Film Honours on Thursday (May 17) for her contribution to Indian cinema.

Early this month, Sridevi was awarded the National Film Award in the best actress category for her performance in Mom. Boney along with Janhvi and Khushi had received the award on her behalf. While many of them must have thought the honour by the Cannes Film Festival must have been received by Boney Kapoor or her elder daughter Janhvi Kapoor but, not any member from the Kapoor family the honourable award was received by filmmaker Subhash Ghai.

Sharing about this the filmmaker took to his Twitter to share the photos of him receiving the award and captioned it by writing, "It was honour to receive Award on behalf of  legend @SrideviBKapoor at @Festival_Cannes yesterday for her outstanding contribution in Indian cinema n shared my experience with impeccable inimitable actor to western audience hosted by Titan Reginald F. Lewis film honours  " (Sic).

Recently, speaking about Sridevi's achievements and love from across the world to the actress, Boney Kapoor had said, "I'm happy that people from the world over are recognising her body of work and her contribution to cinema. Even though the overwhelming emptiness of losing her remains, it's comforting to know that she lives on through her work."
