Rani Mukerji reveals that Hichki was first offered to another Actress

Rani Mukerji returned to the silver screens after a 4-year break with Siddharth P. Malhotra's meaningful drama film 'Hichki'. The actress is overwhelmed with the response that she has been receiving for her performance in the film. At the recent success party of Hichki, Rani had expressed, "I'm glad that the audience is accepting me with open arms irrespective of my marital status".

Rani's comeback film 'Hichki' was an amazing concept and the first for Indian cinema. While the film is performing exceptionally well at the box office, Rani too is ecstatic about the reviews and the love that she has received from her audience.

Recently, we caught up with Rani and amidst our interaction, the actress happened to reveal that another Bollywood actress was first approached for this role before her. She revealed, "Hichki was actually being made at the time when I was pregnant. And the film actually went to another actress. The actress had further made them wait for a year and by the time I had Adira and she was about 4 months old. This is when Yash Raj Films (YRF) decided that if Rani wants to return to acting then let's approach her as she is the best choice for this film and we didn't go to her because she was pregnant".

"Later after waiting for a long period and then receiving a No from that actress; the YRF team came to me with this film and I said a Yes", concluded Rani.

Undoubtedly, Rani Mukerji starrer Hichki has managed to touch the hearts of the audience and the film's box office report is a proof of the same. After a 2 week successful run at the box office, Hichki has collected Rs 36.60 crores.
