Chennai, April 19 (IANS) Malayalam superstar Mohanlal Sunday ruled out a political career for himself.
'I am doing well in films and have no interest in politics,' Mohanlal told reporters on the sidelines of a private function in Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu.
The actor defended his not casting his vote despite exhorting others, citing preoccupation with work April 16.
'I was busy shooting in Hyderabad and could not therefore exercise my franchise,' Mohanlal said.
Ahead of the release of the remake of Hindi hit in which he shares screen-space with Tamil thespian Kamal Haasan, Mohanlal said: 'I shall do any role as my fans do not want me to typecast in any image.'
