Akshay Kumar has received immense love and appreciation for his film, "Pad Man" and so the actor wanted to talk with the media once again to talk about the film's success and feeling gratitude towards the people who have loved the film and is trying to change their perception after watching the film.

While talking about the same, Akshay said, "Usually stars don't meet after the film was released but, I wanted to talk about not only the appreciation that our film has received but, also about the fact that the world bank has taken it in their stride to show the film in all the villages in India and we have 6,42,000 in India who will be shown the film in free of cost. I just want them (villagers) to come and watch the movie. Even if the movie is about sanitary pads it doesn't mean that the movie is about something unnatural or to feel ashamed about it."

However, the discussion over the social causes soon ends once the film stops coming in limelight. When the actor was asked how will he carry on the awareness of menstruation hygiene for a longer run to break this taboo, he said, "Recently, we launched a pad vending machine in all the State Transport stations of Maharashtra and so we are targeting 120 depots to have these vending machine which will help in distributing the pads to the women of our country."

While Akshay has been seen doing biopics since a few years now and so the films based on the social issues too...when we asked him what made him choose this subject, he stated, "For me, this is not a movie, I have felt about this issue. I felt about pads 2 years back. I had never held a pad before that. The figure of 82% women in India not having access to menstrual hygiene for having no knowledge and money, inspired me to make this film. During menstruation, they are not allowed to sit in temples and kitchens and they are asked to stay on the veranda and this was all shocking to me."

However, the film is released everywhere but, Pakistan has banned the film in their country. When asked to comment on it, he replied, "I request them to let their people watch the film. It's an important film. I am sure one day the film will release in Pakistan."
