Sanjay Dutt impressed by Ranbir Kapoor's Dutt act

Ranbir Kapoor's most awaited and next big film is Sanjay Dutt's biopic that will be portrayed by him. The film has been on hype ever since his pictures as Dutt had been licked from the film's set.

The film is helmed by Raju Hirani and produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra the team recently wrapped up the shoot. Currently, the makers are busy in the post-production work with some editing in the film. Reportedly, titled as Sanjun the movie will trace the journey of Sanjay Dutt whose life has been full of controversies.

According to a report, Dutt recently saw the first edited rushes of his biopic and is said to be impressed by Ranbir Kapoor. A leading daily quoted a source saying, "Sanjay was overwhelmed after he saw what Raju has made. He feels Ranbir Kapoor has got the nuances perfectly."

Everyone does have huge expectations from the movie ever since Ranbir's look as Dutt was leaked on the internet. The source added, "Though he's [Sanjay] not acting in the movie, producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Raju are like family to him and this will be a big association with them."

The biopic also stars Dia Mirza, Sonam Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Manisha Koirala and is slated for release in June. Earlier, reports suggested that Sanjay is happy that the movie is releasing in June as it is a special month for him. As reported by a leading daily, June marks the birthday of Sanjay Dutt's parents Nargis and Sunil Dutt's birthday, i.e. on June 1 and June 6.

"The month of June is very close to Dutt. He always shared a very warm and loving relationship with his parents and was close to them. Even now, he fondly remembers and talks about his parents," the source added further.

About his biopic starring Ranbir, Sanjay had earlier said, "I'm lucky and humbled that they are making a biopic about a guy who is still alive. Ranbir has done a fantastic job, there is nobody better than Rajkumar Hirani."
