Sonakshi - Diljit's next Boom Boom in New York to release on this date

'Boom Boom in New York' is a very unusual title for a film and this reportedly comedy flick stars Sonakshi Sinha and Dijit Dosanjh in the lead roles. The plot of this film revolves around IIFA awards where interestingly filmmaker Kara Johar will be playing himself.

Boom Boom in New York will also be released in 3D format and is slated to hit the screens on 23^rd February 2018. A close source revealed few details of the characters to DNA. The source stated, "Unlike Karan Johar who plays himself in the film, Lara Dutta doesn't play an actress but one of the characters. She plays the head of the management at IIFA and has a full-fledged role in the movie, which will also have some interesting cameos. Lara's role has different flavours to it and she said yes almost immediately".

Lara confirmed the news and said, "We have been shooting in New York and it's been a madhouse with amazing energy on the sets. I'm very excited to be a part of this film. Also, for the first time, we are exploring a new genre of stage reality film".

With Sonakshi alongside Punjab star Diljit, this comedy flick also stars Riteish Deshmukh, Lara Dutta, and Karan Johar. As per reports, the film will also include cameos of many Bollywood celebrities.

This release date is to note that Boom Boom in New York will clash with Rani Mukerji's Hichki and John Abraham - Diana Penty starrer Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran at the box office.
