Even before starting a conversation Akshay Kumar seemed so much into the sanitary pad issues that he couldn't wait for the media to ask questions instead, started to talk about it on his own.

"In today's generation, no one speaks about periods. In south people celebrate it. If their daughter is into puberty it's a celebration for them. They give gifts to the girl and she actually remembers it. Over here we people hide it because of which the girl starts thinking something is going wrong with myself. And that's where when things go wrong. She loses her confidence and it makes her feel that it is shameful to be in periods. This is the most important thing and as I have said in this film, "If you want our country to be strong - women strong, mothers strong then our country strong." There's no point of buying defence system and all...jis kok se janam deke agar vo hi strong nai ho toh beta, kya paida karoge? That is all this movie is talking about. We are talking about how to make our country strong, said Akshay.

When he was asked, do you think it is the need of the hour, he replied, "It's not the need of the hour it's the need of every day. It's a need of every country. People ask me about GST but, I feel why should we even have GST it should be 'Free'. There are some countries which give it free...there's no GST on it. It is an essential thing to make your women strong."

While, talking about how much change will the film make amongst the people, he said, "See I can say you with my experiences that when I did "Toilet -Ek Prem Katha", it was a dangerous zone that I am making a toilet as a love story but, it gave a lot of change. It gave many people the reason why to make a toilet for their wives, mothers and sisters. To be honest, I think that the in social media 'men' are discussing sanitary pads is the biggest victory. Even women used to be scared of talking. But, today the whole media is talking about the film. I don't even care what business is going to happen for the film but, I do care and I feel my victory is already done that on social media people are talking about it with each other. The men are talking about it with men is really good and I am glad they are, they should talk!"
