Recently, we informed you about veteran actress Geeta Kapoor being abandoned at the hospital by her son.

Now, the actress has opened up about her heart-wrenching story and has revealed to the media the torture she went through by the hands of her own beloved son. She shared that he used to beat her up and lock her up in room without any food for several days.

In an interview with Mid-day, Geeta opened up, "He used to beat me up as I did not approve of his philandering ways. He would give me food once in four days, and sometimes, even lock me up for several days. I was not ready to go to an old-age home, that's why, he planned all this. He deliberately kept me hungry and I fell ill. Then, he got me admitted and fled."

Reportedly, Geeta was taken to SRV Hospital in Goregaon (Mumbai) in April. She was in an unconscious state and was suffering from low blood pressure. At that time, her son, Raja who is a choreographer, was with her but he left the hospital saying that he will return back with the deposit amount that is to be paid at the hospital during the time of admission of the patient. But, he "never came back".

Dr Dipendra Tripathi, chief intensivist of the hospital has been quoted by HT saying, "As soon as the ambulance brought her to hospital, the son asked if a deposit had to be paid. He left the hospital on the pretext of looking for an ATM and never returned. Since admission, no one from the family has asked about her."

The doctor further added, "Her BP was low. She was definitely not well-fed."

The hospital officials even tried to help the actress. In an effort to find her son, they visited her residence but the neighbours informed them that their house had been rented out three months ago and the family vacated it within hours of sending their mother to the hospital, the report further said.

As reported earlier, Filmmaker and CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification) member Ashoke Pandit and producer Ramesh Taurani immediately came forward to extend their support for Geeta and cleared her hospital bills that amount to Rs 1.5 lakh.

Talking about the same, Ashok Pandit says, "I came to know that an old lady named Geeta Kapoor has been abandoned in a Mumbai hospital by her children only after reading about it in the newspapers. I didn't know Geeta Kapoor is the Geeta Kapoor from Pakeezah. After reaching the hospital I cleared the bills, and I wanted to tell the hospital guys that she will be taken care of, so there are no insecurities from the hospital's side and they would continue treating her. Paying the bills was not a big thing, really. I saw my mother in her."

We pray for the good health of Geeta and hope she gets well soon.
