New Delhi, April 24 (IANS) The eighth edition of India Runway Week Summer will have Mumbai-based designers opening and closing the fashion extravaganza, which is scheduled to begin from April 28 here.

While designer Ken Ferns will open it, Kristy De Cunha will bring down the curtains on the fashion week on April 30, read a statement.

"We are excited about both the designers. They are young and their style of presentation on the runway is perfect for the current summer season. It's quirky and colourful," said Avinash Pathania, Founder at Indian Federation for Fashion Development.

Ferns's collection titled 'Soda' is inspired by paper craft and its geometric forms in the real world.

The theme of Cunha's collection is 'Gol Gol Rani, Freddie Mercury!'. Cunha's collection gives a quirky twist to late British singer Freddie Mercury. The collection is curated with edgy prints in vibrant colours.

Both collections will be a mix of men and women's clothing.
