'Jolly LLB 2' makers SLAPPED with 3 Crore Law Suit!

The second installment of filmmaker Subhash Kapoor's 'Jolly LLB' is all set to hit the silver screens. But just a few days before its release, the film has been caught in a legal soup.  Popular footwear brand 'Bata' has filed a 3 crore lawsuit for defaming its brand name in the film.

In the first trailer of 'Jolly LLB 2', Akshay who is shown having an argument with Annu Kapoor says, "Bata ka joota pehan kar, tuchchi si tericoat ki shirt pehan kar, saala humse zabaan ladha rha hai". (sic)

'Bata' was unhappy with the manner in which its company name has been represented in the trailer and thus it had earlier sent legal notices to Akshay, Fox Star and director Subhash Kapoor.

The case had been filed through the legal firm Kochchar & Co. Neeraj Grover from Kochchar & Co, informed a tabloid, "A suit for injunction and damages of 3 Crore has been filed by Bata against Fox Star Studios (producers) and 'Jolly LLB 2' unit. Faced with the lawsuit, Fox Star undertakes to delete reference of Bata and immediately remove the trailers with defamatory reference". (sic)

Though 'Jolly LLB 2' team has assured to delete the scene from the film, 'Bata' has maintained that it will continue to fight against the makers. "The producers cannot simply wash their hands off by submitting an undertaking to delete the defamatory reference after over a month of the release of trailer". (sic)

The film might hit a huge road block if the issue isn't settled soon, its lead actors Akshay Kumar and Huma Qureshi are already busy promoting the film.
