Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan were blessed with a baby boy on 20th of December 2016. It was a time for them to cherish, celebrate and gather all the blessings they can from their family, friends as well as their fans. However, it turned out to be the total opposite of that when they announced the name of their son. People started to bash them just because the newly turned parents named their kid, 'Taimur Ali Khan'!

Taimur, is the name of the Conqueror who is considered as an evil person and people couldn't digest the fact that they named a newly born kid after a merciless King! Many celebs came forward to lend support to the couple when people were trolling them on each and every social media platform. Fans of both the actors stood firm with them till things didn't cool down.

Now almost after a month, Saif has finally spoken about the fracas created by the name of his kid. He said, "Social media just makes it clear what everybody is thinking in a sense. There is a lot of anonymity from the side of the people who are doing the talking so they feel free to say whatever they like, and sometimes they get very nasty...And that's fine. It doesn't mean that twenty, thirty or forty years ago people weren't thinking similar things but maybe they did not have an outlet then." (sic)

He expressed his gratitude towards his family, friends and fans for the overwhelming support he and Kareena have got. He said,"As far as I am concerned, stars are privileged and our country is actually still very balanced."

He added that India is still liberal and citizens of the country are not narrow-minded. The actor said,"People talk about the country becoming right-wing and fascist, and we have all these fears...but the fact of the matter is that if you view the kind of unnecessary drama over Taimur, there were a lot of voices...I felt I didn't have to say anything because a lot of people had spoken wisely and liberally. Voices that kind of vindicated my decision and made me feel that it's absolutely fine (to have the freedom to name his child as he wished to). "Yes, there were some people who raised some objections but obviously just to look at medieval history and to make value judgments is, I think, ridiculous, and a lot of people have said that on my behalf. I feel quite confident that we don't live in a right-wing society. As Yet. India is still liberal and people are still open minded." (sic)

Well, that's a nice reply by Saif to all the people who trolled him and made memes of him!
