SHOCKING: Preity Zinta's brother commits suicide

Preity Zinta's cousin brother Nitin Chauhan who was living in Shimla, committed suicide on Friday morning.

Reportedly, he shot himself in the head with a pistol in a vehicle bearing the registration number HP 51 2089 near Sector 2, new Shimla.

Two suicide notes have been recovered: one from the car and the other from his home. In both the notes that he left behind, he has blamed his wife and in-laws for driving him to suicide. He has also accused them of harassing him by filing false cases and not allowing him to meet his son.

A senior police official has been quoted by HT: "The victim and his wife had separated two years ago. The case regarding legal separation was pending in the court. The hearing of the case was on Friday." (sic)

Another officer who was at the spot says, "In both suicide notes, of four pages each, Chauhan blamed his wife and in-laws of harassing him." (sic)

On the basis of the suicide notes, the police have registered case of 'abatement to suicide' against the in-laws. Investigations have started. "We have not interrogated anyone but registered a case against those mentioned in suicide note," a Shimla police officer told HT.

The weapon used by the victim to end his life does not belong to him. His family have revealed that they do not posses any weapon. So the police have sent the weapon and his phone for forensic examination to gather his call details and other information.
