When Shabana Azmi had to beat a small kid...

To bring their on-screen characters to life, actors have to get into the skin of the character they are portraying.

At times they are expected to do things that their soul doesn't permit of. Something similar happened with veteran actress Shabana Azmi while she was shooting for a heart wrenching scene.

For her upcoming film "Idgah", Shabanaji had to shoot a scene wherein she had to beat her little grandchild played by child actor Yohann.

For the flawless actor that she is, she managed to pull off the scene very well but deep down in her heart she wasn't happy. The reason for this was hitting the small child left her shattered.

She took to her social media account to share her pain. Talking about the scene she shared that it will torture her for the rest of her life.

She posted: "Shot a heart-wrenching scene for 'Idgaah' today with young Yohaan. The look of being betrayed in his eyes as I beat him will torment me forever."

"Idgaah" is said to be based on Hindi writer Premchand's similarly titled short story.
