Sanjay Dutt's Jail term reduced!

Sanjay Dutt who is currently serving his jail term in 1993 Mumbai blasts will be released on 27th February.

In 2007, the actor was cleared of all conspiracy charges in connection with the serial blasts in Mumbai that killed 257 people and injured hundreds. But, he was found guilty of illegal possession of an AK-56 rifle and a pistol and was sentenced to six years in jail.

After the conviction he served 18 months in jail but then came out on bail to fight against the conviction but in March 2013 a court ordered him back to jail in Pune.

However, during this course the actor frequently took breaks and kept coming out from the jail. Overall, from May 2013- 2014; he spent 118 days out of prison. This behaviour of the actor was criticized as an evidence of VIP treatment.

Sanjay Dutt, on his clarification had said that the weapons he had carried with him was for the protection of himself and his family during the riots that erupted in the city after a series of bombs exploded at the city's landmarks.
