New Delhi, Sep 11 (IANS) As Neil Periera, a commerce graduate from a Mumbai college, discovered, it pays to get bullied - at least on a television show.

Periera entered arguably TV's meanest show "Dadagiri", survived unpleasant and cruel bullying tactics and walked away richer by Rs.500,000.

"Dadagiri", that aired on channel Bindass, was a show where students competed against each other, while surviving the horrors of bullying.

"I always wanted to do something different and 'Dadagiri' was something that a normal person won't do," Periera told IANS.

Periera had set out only to earn "some quick money" and have some fun.

"I feel different as a person and people's way of looking at me has also changed. I also feel more confident now. Initially, the game was very awkward but then when we gradually got into the groove of it, we understood that it was all a part of the show since it was supposed to be the meanest game show," he said.

The show offered a variety of tasks that were mostly wacky, bizarre and gruesome and challenged the participants physically and mentally.

Periera had to face his greatest fear - cockroaches - in the final round.

In another task, he was covered with pounds of raw flesh and bones and his hands were tied. The challenge was to untie himself.

"The bones poked me so bad that I had marks all over my body at the end of it," he said.

Periera plans to invest part of his [rize money, give some to his mother and donate some for charity. Besides, he plans to pursue his MBA, preferably in the field of marketing.

After surviving "Dadagiri", Periera is looking forward for a call from MTV's reality adventure show "Roadies".

"'Roadies' and 'Dadagiri' are two different things. I really don't mind auditioning for the show but I hope I get a call from them. I really don't want to make fun of myself if I don't get selected there," he said.
