Gurgaon, Nov 13 (IANS) A special fashion show, which aims to create awareness about cancer, will be held in this capital suburb on Saturday.

The event, Festival of Hope, hosted by Priyadarshini Award-winner corporate professional Shalini Vig Wadhwa, will feature cancer survivors walking the ramp to support cancer awareness and contribute to the cause of helping under-privileged children who can't afford the cost of treatment through hospitals.

Wadhwa said that year after year, she is "extremely pleased and satisfied" to create cancer awareness.

"Moreover, every year we bring together more than thousand families who celebrate the spirit of cancer survivors. They also learn to be alert for any early symptoms and are aware of various treatments available to cure cancer," she added.

Designers Ashima-Leena, Manoviraj Khosla, as well as Meera and Muzaffar Ali will participate in the seventh edition of the event, which also features Anu Ahuja as the show director and Blossom Kochhar as the grooming partner.

At the event, children will also walk the ramp for the designers as the Young Leaders of Hope.

"As a brand has always envisioned beyond fashion and has believed in giving back to the society. We work diligently with NGOs and take our responsibility to confer to the world," Leena said.

Reiterating the message, Khosla added: "I am very happy to be associated with this event and hope there are many more such events that raise the topic of cancer awareness."

The event, which will be hosted in an elaborate outdoor set-up at Kingdom of Dreams, is being co-hosted by ShowShaa Theatre there.
