Mumbai, Aug 16 (IANS) Bollywood music director Bappi Lahiri had a memorable Raksha Bandhan Saturday with a group of physically and mentally challenged children.

Lahiri and playback singer Shweta Pandit visited the children's home run by Smita Thackeray's Mukti Foundation to wish them on the occasion and get rakhis tied by the little girls there.

Thackeray also joined the group of girls tying rakhis to the composer.

A visibly touched Lahiri said: 'No words can express my feelings today. All I can say is that I will keep my rakhi promise and do whatever I can for these little ones and Smitaji. I cherish this rakhi very much.'

Thackeray said: 'I make it a point to spend my free time with the children. But today I felt they should enjoy festivities as well. And I am happy a veteran like Bappida and Shweta Pandit gave some of their valuable time for this cause.'

The kids surprised Thackeray with a chocolate cake - on the eve of her birthday Sunday.
