Shahid considers father as his best critic

Shahid Kapoor has grown into a 'go to man' when someone is looking for a complete package. Be it a role requiring the intensity like in Haider or be it a role requiring the complexity like the one in Jab We Met. Shahid has always proved his mettle as a true performer.

This hasn't come to him easily. Although he always had the potential of becoming a superstar it's his father's guidance which he has always followed up his own ante.

After 'Haider' when his father, a veteran, Pankaj Kapoor expressed his happiness after watching his performance it's only after then he realized that he has done a good job. In fact, Pankaj Kapoor also thanked director Vishal Bharadwaj for casting Shahid in 'Haider'. Pankaj Kapoor was of a view that hadn't Vishal cast Shahid in 'Haider' he wouldn't have been able to see his son in this avatar ever.

Shahid always falls back to his dad whenever he needs any suggestion. No wonder, he has kept us surprising with all his films till date.
