National School of Drama (NSD)-trained actor Rohitashv Gour, who actively participates in Hindi plays, says Hindi theatre is not as advanced as Marathi or Gujarati.

"Where Hindi theatre is concerned, it has not advanced... Marathi theatre and Gujarati theatre are doing well. If we leave NSD and professional theatre groups, small theatre groups are still trying to get funds," Rohitashv told IANS.

Active in films and television, Rohitashv admits NSD training helped him.

"I was learning many new things. But there was a boy from Mumbai, who didn't find it good. So it all depends on where you are coming from," said the actor who is also active in the television industry.

Currently seen in the second season of "Lapataganj", he feels television may have advanced in terms of technology, but the content has become weaker.

"TV has advanced a lot in techniques and look. TV is being shot as films. But content has become weak. They all use the same thing. This saas-bahu has been stretched a lot. We were more ahead when we gave 'Buniyaad' and 'Hum log'," said the actor who had earlier featured in shows like "Kagaz Ki Kashti", "Jasuben Jayantilal Joshi Ki Family" and "Hum Aapke Hain In Laws".

As far as film projects are concerned, the actor will be seen in Rajkumar Hirani's "PK" soon.

"I was offered many shows, but I could not do it because of paucity of time. I am in 'PK' also... I have done a small role. It is a comedy sequence, which I am part of," he said.
