Producer Karan AroraProducer Karan Arora has signed a three-film deal with two Georgia-based production houses to co-produce and release films in the country.

The deal, with Metro Studios and Georgian Film Company, not only includes subsidised cost benefits when the films are shot there, but will also get Georgian partners as co-investors and co-producers for the mainstream Hindi films.

The films will also be dubbed in Georgian.

"The country offers quite exotic and versatile locations but what complements it is the cost factor as the money spent against the production value achieved is what matters most for a producer. This is what got us to sign the dotted lines," Arora of High Ground Enterprise production house, said in a statement.

"The equipment hiring and technical costs nearly matches up the cost one would pay in India. (Plus,) the living cost is pretty reasonable," he added.

Arora will release two of his films - "Kya Dilli Kya Lahore" and "Charlie Ke Chakkar Mein" in Georgia this year.

Irakli Makatsaria, deputy CEO of Metro Studio says they hope for more and long term collaborations with Indian filmmakers.

"For us, the idea is not to only look at the immediate business side of this association, we want to open doors for a long term collaboration with Indian film fraternity. We have quite a film-friendly talents and skilled technicians here to offer support along with the extensive list of latest technology and equipments," said Makatsaria.
