Mumbai, Jan 25 (IANS) He managed to get noticed in his Bollywood debut "Pyaar Ka Punchnama" despite the presence of five other newcomers. Now, Kartik Tiwari hopes that his just released "Akaash Vani" establishes him as a solo hero in filmdom.

"I am happy that I got 'Akaash Vani' after 'Pyaar Ka Punchnama' and I consider it as my launch as a solo hero," Kartik told IANS.

In PKP, Kartik played Rajat aka Rajjo, who had to cope with the tantrums of his girlfriend Neha, essayed by actress Nushrat Bharucha.

Both the actors have reunited for "Akaash Vani", which is helmed by PKP director Luv Ranjan. The romantic drama released Friday, and it is likely to strike the right chords with the young audience.

"With PKP, people addressed us as our characters. With 'Akaash Vani', people will address me as a star. Romantic films give you the opportunity to have a larger than life image, and I feel that this film will help me get accepted as a star," he said.

For now, Kartik wants to continue to be a part of youth-centric films.

"Till the time I am young, I will do youth films. I will entertain people in the same roles. But yes, if I get challenging characters, I will take them up. I want to do action films too later," he said.

Talking about his future plans, he said that post "Akaash Vani", there is a possibility of him working in the PKP sequel.
