DQE inks pact with Japan's Think Corporation for new films

Chennai, Feb 16 (IANS) DQ Entertainment, a major Indian animation and gaming company, has chalked a Memorandum of Understanding with Japan's Think Corporation, for three animated television series and other films.

The MoU was signed at the Kidscreen summit, New York.

The three high-end television series under consideration for release by 2009 are 'Honeinu-Kun in the Makkura Land', 'Love Rollercoaster' and an untitled pre-school targeted series.

Also under consideration is the proposal to co-develop and co-produce the Direct to Home video/feature film 'Coluboccoro'.

The outlay towards these productions is estimated to be approximately $24 million, a statement from DQE said.

'DQE is joining hands with Think Corporation to co produce three animation TV series and feature film for the global markets and there will be a lot of synergies in working together,' Tapaas Chakravarti, chairman DQE, said.

DQ Entertainment is a leading producer of animation and visual effects, feature films, DTH videos including online, mobile and next-gen console game art and in-game animation. It has 80 clients including Walt Disney Television Animation, Nickelodeon Animation Studios Inc., American Greetings, NBC-Universal, BBC, and others.

Think Corporation, set up in 1988, provides a wide-range of intellectual property creation services, from the planning and development of animation visual content to its production and promotion.
