Mumbai, Aug 6 (IANS) Designers Shivan and Naresh and Swapnil Shinde created quite a spectacle for the fashionistas present for their show at the Lakme Fashion Week (LFW) here Monday, with their set including a laser lighting extravaganza which left the audience spellbound.

Shivan and Naresh's collection was inspired by a horse's speed and the clothes depicted it.

"The theme was speed. It is a very universal theme and we could easily adapt to it. It's inspired from an anatomy of a horse," the duo said after the show.

The garments included a range of swimsuits, short dresses, loose tops and skirts. The major colours used were blue and grey.

Ace designer Swapnil Shinde, who showcased his collection next, retained the laser lights, but darkened the colours to add to his theme of horror as shown in Bollywood films of the 1960s.

The woman in the white sari, with her 'pallu' flying in the wind was what inspired him, he said.

"I was so inspired by the effect of wind on fabric that I decided to create it in my collection," Shinde told IANS.

The collection included garments like gowns, button-down dresses and full volume skirts. The gowns had fabric sticking out from the back -- to depict the flying of the clothes, which was done to perfection.

The designer says that he mostly stuck to "safe choices" in fabric like chiffon and georgette but also experimented with organza in this collection.

The colours black and white were used in abundance in the clothes but there were a few looks in bright yellow and red as well.

Explaining the thought process behind this, Shinde said: "The inspiration was from black and white, dark greenish blue. But I think in a collection with dull colours, a shock of adding a bright colour makes a great impact.".
