New Delhi, July 15 (IANS) Indira Ghosh Baikerikar's autumn-winter collection reflects India's rich culture of India and pays a tribute to the country's artisans, the designer says.

"At Indira (her label), the collection talks about rich colours of Indian society and artisans of the village folk. Some of the prints that dominate the line are shiburis from Rajasthan and batiks from West Bengal with a touch of urban finesse to enhance the contemporary style of women with substance," Baikerikar told IANS.

She adds that "every piece tells a story of an artisan" and that "influence of Shantiniketan is clearly evident in the styles".

For the designer, who styles celebrities like Sushmita Sen, Perizad Zorabian and Sunita Menon, the collection personifies the timeless beauty of a woman with well-fitted garments, a fusion of Indian and Western line in fabrics like chiffon, georgette and cotton.

"The collection is made with the usage of finest materials to bring about an amalgamation of intricate techniques and clean streamlined silhouettes. The look of the range is international, while the elements that go into making it are Indian," the designer said.

The collection is available at designer's store at prices starting from Rs.3,000.
