Hyderabad, Feb 3 (IANS) A die-hard fan of Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi committed suicide Sunday allegedly over the actor's delay in joining politics.

Parthasarthi, a 30-year-old home-guard in Bhadrachalam in Khammam district, ended his life by consuming poison at his home, the police said.

In a suicide note allegedly found on him, Parthasarthi wrote that he was ending his life as he was pained over the delay in his favourite actor's entry into politics. He said he wanted to see the star as chief minister soon.

In his note he urged Chiranjeevi to launch his party without any further delay, as he was definite to win and become the chief minister. The fan also pledged his eyes to an eye-bank run by the actor.

Speculation about Chiranjeevi entering politics has been doing the rounds for a few months. While his aides dropped hints that the actor would announce his plans soon, he has remained elusive so far.

In a statement earlier, the actor advised his fans to be patient till he made any announcement.

Fans of Chiranjeevi attacked actor Rajasekhar last week over a statement attributed to him that the latter would not join the party to be launched by Chiranjeevi as he had no experience in politics.

Chiranjeevi, with a career spanning over three decades, is one of the highest paid actors in south India and enjoys massive fan following across the state.
