Mumbai, Oct 1 (IANS) Many believe Bollywood songs have overshadowed other forms of music genres but music maestro A.R. Rahman completely disagrees. He believes all forms of music will always coexist.

'Everything coexists with each other. It's just that other forms of music are less popular on television. I don't think classical music will ever die as long as people have interest or quest for true things,' Rahman told reporters here.

Talking about his music academy KM Music Conservatory in Chennai the Oscar-winner said: 'If you see videos of our classes on YouTube, you can see what kind of respect we are giving to classical music, Sufi music, Hindustani music and western classical. You will realise how they all coexist.'

'The same student can sing Hindustani classical, a qawwali and an opera - so that is the beauty of what we are trying to do in the school,' Rahman added.

'I have just finished a Hollywood movie. You will come to know about it in January. And I am doing one Dreamworkz animation film. Apart from this, I am also doing a Yash Raj film for the first time, something I am very excited about,' he said.

Currently the 45-year-old is working on the background score of Imtiaz Ali's 'Rockstar'.

The 'Mozart of Madras' has always been very selective about his film projects and he has given melodious music in films like 'Roja', 'Bombay', 'Dil Se' and many more.
