New Delhi, March 11 (IANS) Mukul Dev's drunken act 'Yamla Pagla Deewana' earned him accolades and the actor is on cloud nine. But says it was not easy for him to play the role.

'To play a drunk is always very, very tough, but I managed. I was with a bunch of people who were very sweet to me. They are like a family, so I lost all my inhibitions and I did the role. For a minute I didn't feel I was acting or shooting for a film,' Mukul told IANS.

'It feels fantastic, it feels so great about the whole thing that people appreciated my work and that's the only reason why the actor works. It's fantastic and I am on top of the world,' he added.

'Yamla Pagla Deewana' featured all the three Deols - Sunny, Bobby and veteran actor Dharmendra. This was their second film together after 2007 'Apne'.

Mukul played Billa, elder brother of Saheba (Kulraj Randhawa) in the film.

'Nobody can ever say or expect whether his or her role would turn out to be good, but I knew one thing that this film and this character will definitely connect to people, especially Punjabis,' he said.

So, is it difficult to make people laugh?

'For me, comedy comes very naturally because I can manage comedy very easily. I think there is something funny about my face,' he laughed.

Mukul forayed into Bollywood with 1996 film 'Dastak' and went on to do movies like 'Isski Topi Uske Sar', 'Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena', 'Just Married' etc. He also hosted the first season of 'Fear Factor' on small screen.

He is now busy working on two films with Ram Gopal Varma and another one titled 'Jal'.
