Mumbai, Oct 4 (IANS) Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) sleuths have arrested three people in Maharashtra's Thane district and seized 61 kg Hashish (charas) worth Rs.8 million from them, an official said here Monday.
The arrests were made last Friday at Kharegaon area following a tip-off, said NCB zonal director Yashodhan Wanage.
A truck driven by Shaukat Ali and Asif - both residents of Jammu and Kashmir - was intercepted and searched, and the drugs found concealed in specially made cavities in the roof of the driver's cabin.
Interrogation of the duo revealed that the consignment was meant to be delivered to Sayyed Ejaz Ismail alias Dadhi, who lives in Mumbra town.
Ismail was also arrested and the trio has been sent to NCB's custody till Oct 7, Wanage said.
While Ali (19) hails from Roat village in Doda district, Asif (20) is from Naini-Nara in Bandipur district.
