New Delhi, Sep 21 (IANS) Designer Amit GT will soon be packing his bags and heading for prestigious exhibition Musee des Arts decoratifs in Paris Oct 1-4 with as many as 150 designs.

The Delhi-based designer is known for his elaborate gowns and dresses and, at the exhibition, he will be showcasing resort wear, ready-to-wear and couture line.

'This is the first time that I am experimenting with prints, especially in resort wear. The inspiration for resort wear is various paintings of artists, colour blocking and calligraphic prints while ready-to-wear is a minimal and sophisticated,' Amit told IANS.

'There will also be my signature style of draping, scrunching and pleating replete with innovative feather like textures in the couture line,' he added.

The collection comprises of jackets, shift dresses, skirts, maxis and sensuous gowns.

'This entire range is neo-purism with a hint of 50's modest silhouettes engineered to suit a woman always on the move,' he said.

Amit launched his own pret label Senses in January 2003. Later it was rechristened 'Amit GT', and today it's an umbrella for his pret, diffusion and couture lines.

These days Amit is retailing from various high end boutiques in Europe, Asia, Latin America and is now looking forward to tap the US market.

He also has plans to launch a collection of scarves for the Indian market through online portals.
