Talented actor Prashant Kumar will soon make his lead debut with Kaalo.  This horror film about a 200 year old witch,  is set in the sandy dunes of Jaislamer.

US born and bred Prashant's links with his ancestral home state of Rajasthan go beyond the above movie. He remembers that he had to pull a number of personal strings in Jaipur to get inside the Rajshri camp when he first came down to Mumbai for pursuing his acting dream.

"When I reached Rajshri  office in 2007, I expected a quick 10 minute meeting, but producer Raj Kumar  Barjatya  did a comprehensive screen test. I passed with flying colors and was rewarded with the small but important role in their then Sonu Sood and Isha Kopikkar starrer VIVAH AISA BHI".

Going on, he says, "Although I barely had 2 lines in the film, I rehearsed them night and day. And on the blessed day the entire Rajshri clan was present on sets to cheer me on.  I cleared the scene in one take and  director Sooraj Barjatya congratulated me on my effort  That  cameo won me  rave reviews both in New York and Rajasthan.  Such praise was a great confidence booster for a new comer like me . The Rajshri's helped me at a time when nobody in the industry was willing to give me a break, "says he, with abundant gratitude".
