Reliance BigTV, Indiagames to introduce DTH Games

New Delhi, Jan 15 (IANS) Reliance Big TV, the Direct-To-Home (DTH) arm of Reliance Communications, and UTV subsidiary Indiagames have tied up to introduce DTH Gaming services in India.

Called iGames, the gaming services will be offered by Indiagames on Reliance Big TV's DTH platform in the country.

'Our strategic tie-up with Indiagames is an extension of our business relationship with the UTV Group. iGames also signifies our focus to further enhance and monetise our VAS (Value Added Services) capabilities towards a profitable growth in the DTH business' Reliance Big TV chief executive officer Sanjay Behl said in a statement.

The two companies will leverage the partnership with US-based Oberon Media to provide specialised games for Big TV.

'This initiative and the DTH partnership with Oberon Media marks our foray into the third screen of gaming, making us the first Indian triple play games company with a strong presence across mobile, PC (Personal Computer) and now DTH,' said Samir Bangara, chief operating officer, Indiagames.
