Guwahati, Oct 21 (IANS) She will turn three on Nov 2, but little Asthajitananda Bordoloi from Assam has already etched her name in history by cutting a musical album under the banner of HMV Saregama India Ltd.

By releasing the nine-track Assamese VCD titled 'Tumar Ganor Kulaat', Asthajitananda is said to have become one of the youngest Indian singers ever to have an album released under a big label like HMV.

'She is undoubtedly the youngest singer to cut an album for HMV in its more than a century-old journey,' S.F. Karim, HMV's regional manager, said of the feat by Asthajitananda. HMV was formed in 1899.

Musical legend Bhupen Hazarika had originally rendered all the nine songs sung by Asthajitananda.

'She has a god gifted voice and I would say this kid is a real star,' said Anandji Virji Shah of the popular music director duo of Kalyanji-Anandji fame.

Anandji was in Guwahati to release the album of the little singing sensation.

'The fact that Bhupen Hazarika has allowed her to sing his immortal compositions is in itself a credit and if nurtured and groomed well she could turn out to be something extraordinary,' Anandji said.

Born to Moromoti and Ellorananda, the wonder kind began humming when she was a toddler. 'I first noticed her trying to sing when she was about 12-13 months old,' her mother Ellorananda told IANS.

And since then there has been no looking back. 'She is now under regular training under the guidance of Nanda Banerjee and it is he who encouraged us to record the songs,' her mother said.

Bhupen Hazarika was equally impressed by the kid's rendition.

'It is indeed amazing that she understands the language of music, its tone and rhythm. Her expressions and pronunciation were perfect,' Hazarika said after listening to the album.

And the little girl is totally focussed on her passion. 'I love singing all songs,' Asthajitananda said before coyly slipping into her room for practice.
