However, recently there were reports about a tiff between Deepika and SLB and the reason for it was touted to be the latter picking up another actress for his next film.
As reported earlier, SLB is reuniting with Salman Khan after twenty years in his film Inshallah. There were rumors that Deepika will be cast alongside Salman in the film as for a long time fans wanted to see the two superstars sharing screen space.
However, SLB was more inclined to cast Alia Bhatt and he finally chose her as the leading lady of his film over Deepika. The reason for this, as reported by a leading entertainment portal was that, SLB comes from old school of thought. And Deepika was warned beforehand that SLB is very skeptical in casting married actresses in his movies.
Following this there were another stories that stated Deepika is upset with SLP for picking Alia and not her. A tabloid quoted Deepika saying that she is "disappointed but not heartbroken".
Soon after this, there were fresh stories making rounds in town that SLB who is working on Sahir Ludhianvi biopic is keen to rope in Deepika as the lead actress. While the cast of the film has not yet been announced officially, there were rumors doing rounds that actress
Taapsee Pannu will play the role of Amrita Pritam in the film, only to later state that
Deepika Padukone is also in the running for the same role of the Indian novelist.
Several reports suggested that Deepika, who has worked with
Sanjay Leela Bhansali in three blockbuster films is signed to play Amrita Pritam's role in the film.
However, those reports have been dismissed by a source close to the actress.
Sources reveal, "Deepika is investing all her energies in her first production venture Chhapaak currently. She has not signed any other film at the moment. All rumours that state otherwise are untrue."
On the work front,
Deepika Padukone will be seen in the upcoming movie Chhapaak co-starring Vikrant Massey which has been directed by Meghna Gulzar.
