Vicky Kaushal to don Sardar Udham Singh's skin for his Next

With the massive success of URI, Vicky Kaushal has received immense love from his fans. Since then the actor has been making it to the headlines for his extravagant performance. Vicky's journey started from the film Massan which also stars Richa Chadda, the actor has repeatedly proved himself as a worthy competitor in B-town. The actor has offered back-to-back power-packed performance through Sanju, Raazi, and Manmarziyaan.

While Vicky is reaching the great heights, Shoojit Sircar has roped in the 30-year-old actor for his next film Udham Singh. The actor has excelled on the commercial front and will be next seen in a biopic. He will essay the role of freedom fighter Sardar Udham Singh in the film that is set in the pre-independence era.

The film marks the first collaboration of Vicky and Shoojit who is happy to cast him in the lead role. During a media interaction, praising Vicky for his performance and choices in regards to the script he said, "If you look at Vicky's track record, he is taking brave steps and making some really fabulous choices. I wanted an actor who is ready to give his heart and soul to the film. Plus, he is a Punjabi boy and my film is a story of a Punjabi man. So, in many ways, he turned to be the obvious choice."

Announcing the film, Taran Adarsh took to his twitter handle and shared a post to confirm Shoojit's upcoming project. His tweet read, CONFIRMED... Vicky Kaushal in Shoojit Sircar's next film, titled #UdhamSingh... Story of a freedom fighter... Set in the pre-Independence era... Produced by Ronnie Lahiri... Starts next month... 2020 release.

Meanwhile, Vicky calls the opportunity of working with Shoojit as "dream come true". 

Furthermore, Vicky said, "it's a surreal feeling because it's like a dream come true as I am finally getting to work with him. I have always been a big admirer of how Shoojit sir looks at his stories. The way he is looking at the character (Udham Singh) and the world is extraordinary as well as beautiful. Plus, it's also a big honour for me that finally, I am going to be directed by him. Honestly, that's something that will take time to sink in."

Sardar Udham Singh was a revolutionary who assassinated Michael O' Dwyer, the British officer who was responsible for Jallianwala Bagh massacre. The film is set to go on floors in April, and will hit the screens in 2020.
