Has Vicky replaced SRK in Rakesh Sharma biopic Saare Jahan Se Achha?

The Rakesh Sharma biopic, titled Saare Jahaan Se Achha, has been grabbing a lot of headlines lately for its casting. While it is not unknown that Aamir Khan was the first choice for the film, the actor opted out of it citing another ambitious film in the making. In fact, he recommended the film to Shah Rukh Khan, who happily took it up. "Shah, you should hear the script, it is fantastic. It will be right for you, if you like it," Aamir had reportedly told the Zero actor.

In fact, SRK confirmed being confirmed being approached for the role by saying, "I thank Aamir, who was to do the film for calling me and telling me about the role as it would suit me. I will try and spend time with Rakesh Sharma." However, a report in DNA recently suggested that SRK was reconsidering his decision about starring in the Rakesh Sharma biopic since he is cautious about his next project after the Zero debacle.

Now if a report in Bollywood Hungama is to be believed, there is a new twist in the tale as the makers of Rakesh Sharma biopic have approached Vicky Kaushal to step into SRK's shoes. Although there has been no confirmation, the makers apparently believe that Vicky will do full justice to the role.

Interestingly, Saare Jahaan Se Achcha writer Anjum Rajabali had recently refuted rumours of SRK walking out of the project. But now with Vicky reportedly being roped in, we wonder what the makers have to say. Meanwhile, producer Siddharth Roy Kapur recently confirmed that the film is expected to go on floor soon.

For now, we cannot wait for an official announcement.
