'Code Blue' in Berlin Film Festival is big achievement for me: Aleena Khan

Mumbai, Jan 24 (IANS) Actor-filmmaker Aleena Khan, who is gearing up for the release of her forthcoming film "Code Blue", has said that her film premiering in Berlin Film Festival is a big achievement for her.

"I think having world premiere of my film in Berlin Film Festival is very big thing and achievement for me," Aleena, while interacting with the media to promote the film, told reporters here on Wednesday.

The film revolves around Triple Talaq which is a sensitive issue with the Muslim community.

"I have been receiving numerous e-mails from people of Berlin because it has a huge European film market and people over there like to watch different kinds of movies," she said.

Talking about concept of her film, Aleena said, "The film is a life-saving emergency code and it is about a girl whose story is inspired by a real-life incident. This girl is pushed to dead ends by society malpractices and how she comes back and fight those evils, that is what 'Code Blue' is all about, the battle of a girl from a dead end."

"This film is a fight of Womanhood; it is not political, religion or caste-based fight. It is about survival and living a dignified life. It is about equality and getting the reorganization for the hard work of women across India and entire world," she added.

Aleena said that she has invited Prime Minister for the special screening of her film, "I have sent an invite to our Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the special screening of the film. I hope that he will attend screening of this film."

"Code Blue" in association with Rahat Kazmi Films, features Alok Nath, Rishi Bhutani, Sushmita Mukerji and Aleena Khan in lead roles. The movie will release on International Women's Day 2019.
