Hurray!! It's the birthday of the Padmaavat star Deepika Padukone. She turns 33 this year and the last one has been the most special year of her life. She got married to her long time boyfriend Ranveer Singh in a dreamy fairy tale wedding in Italy. With him she seems the happiest and we can't help ourselves as we root more and more for her. 

Today on the occasion of her big day, we bring to you some facts about this star which were not known to her fans till now.

1. For starters, do you know that Deepika Padukone was not born in India. Yes, she was born in Copenhagen, Denmark on 5th January, 1986. Then her family moved to Bengaluru when she was just 11 months old. 

2. She has rejected almost five movies opposite Salman Khan. We wonder why doesn't she like working with him?

3. Deepika Padukone was a national level Badminton player before she decided to act. She even played base ball on a state level. Quiet athletic, isn't she?

4. Deepika is a Jujutsu fighter. She learned the martial art form for her movie, Chandni Chowk to China.

5. Do you remember when Deepika appeared on screen for the first time? Well, no, it was not for some movie or some ad which gave her the limelight to come into Bollywood. She was first seen in Himesh Reshamiya's music video 'Naam hai Tera Tera' and that was ewhen Farah Khan spotted her and decided to offer her Om Shanti Om.

7. Apart from being a stunning actress in Bollywood. Deepika writes a weekly column in Hindustan Times. She is also involved for many social causes and charities. She even adopted a village of Maharashtra.

8. That's really responsible of her, don't you think. She even runs an organisation Live, Laugh, Love. She founded it after she went into depression and felt the need to familiarize people with this mental condition. 

Now, as her hubby Ranveer describes her, she is one of the most down to earth person who behaves like us when she's home. She leaves her diva out when she comes home.
