Varalakshmi opts out of Simbu starrer 'Poda Podi'

Chennai July 13 (IANS) Southern actress Varalakshmi has pulled out of Tamil film 'Poda Podi', in which she was paired with Silambarasan. She was apparently annoyed by the delays in the project.

The film was launched with fanfare a few months ago, but after that nothing much happened on it. Silambarasan tried to revive the film and met Varalakshmi regarding the same but the actress told him that she didn't like the on-again-off-again situation vis-a-vis the film and was opting out of it.

According to the sources, Varalakshmi is concentrating on her singing career and is busy with rap music and stage shows.

Her father, well-known actor Sarathkumar, is whole-heartedly supporting her career in music and persuaded his daughter to concentrate on music instead of films, added the source.
