"Why do we always have to take the difficult way? At times it is important to take the easy route to reach our destination because that's all that we have and we need at that point."

-Shah Rukh Khan

A glimpse of the story:

Kaira played by Alia Bhatt is a highly ambitious girl who is scared of love, relationships and giving commitments. Tired of her failed relationships, she decides to seek the help of a therapist.

Dr. Jehangir Khan a.k.a. Jug played by Shah Rukh Khan then enters the frame. He is a therapist who helps Kaira overcome her fears and get her life back on track.

About the characters:

Shah Rukh Khan: Trust me, throughout the movie I tried my best to find flaws about him and guess what I couldn't fine one! SRK is simply improving with every passing day. He didn't have any dhamakedaar entry this time but when he graced the screens his persona spoke lengths. You will be forced to fall in love with him this time again. He is a therapist in the film and along with curing his patient Kaira, he will somewhere heal your hidden pains too. He makes you connect with him through his positive vibes.

Alia Bhatt: Take a bow! It takes a good director to bring out the real actor from within you. And something similar happened with Alia this time. Her character was a normal girl next door but she added various different shades to her. She has improved in great lengths and her hard work came out evidently in various intense scenes.

Hard-hitting scene: There is a particular scene where Kaira (Alia) is venting out the bad experiences of her life to Jug (Shah Rukh Khan) and that scene has been portrayed so well that you instantly connect yourself to it. Along with Alia, teras will rol down your eyes too as you feel the intense pain in your heart.

Kunal Kapoor: He is seen playing Raghuvendra who is a producer and also Alia's love interest. Though he does not have much screen time, for all the time that he was there, he made sure to give a flawless performance.

Ali Zafar is seen as Alia's third love interest, Rumi who is a hard core singer. His life revolves around music, music and music.

Angad Bedi is seen playing the character of Sid who is hotelier and also Alia's boyfriend.

Aditya Roy Kapoor has a guest appearance in the end. But, even after entering at the closure, he adds freshness in the scene and gives it a perfect end!

Overall:

'Dear Zindagi' is a movie that cannot be judged but only felt. It does not have any masala or entertainment factor but it is a simple story that has been put up very beautifully and in a sweet manner. The incidences of many of our day-to-day lives have been fetched out and portrayed on the big screens. But, what makes it different is the unique concept where SRK gives solutions to solve these issues in a very peaceful manner.

The movie has a very deep message that many of us will strongly relate to. These messages, if given a thought will surely brighten our lives.

So this weekend, it's time to pamper our 'Dear Zindagi' and give her a break from your hectic work schedules. Get hold of your near and dear ones and drench yourself in a soft, light- heart, fun filled story of a girl who is just like all of us: Ambitious, hard-working and a bit confused about life!

After all, 'Zindagi' bahut choti hai mere dost, isi yuhi khatam nahi karna hai. Thodi masti, thoda drama toh zaruri hai.'
