Disappointing, dud film - Freaky Ali Movie Review

People say they envy my job, but I would gladly switch places with anyone who says that; for a Freaky Ali atleast. Why, why would Nawaz do something like this to himself and more importantly his fans! Sohail Khan tries really hard to churn out a masala, not to forget, senseless comedy to be digested like a Dabangg; but fails and how! His attempt to make golf, a common man's game doesn't impress one bit.

Freaky Ali is a story about a underwear salesman Ali who is a part time wasooli bhai (extortionist). A golf enthusiast sees his potential to be a golf player, when Ali once comes to visit one of his 'clients'.

Unfortunately the story doesn't take any major turn other than this golf playing underwear salesman. You tend to wait patiently for the movie to have a twist, considering it's a Siddique movie but that ain't gonna happen fellas.

Nawaz does a fab role and makes us laugh at moments, here and there in the movie. He does justice to his role as he has in all the other films he has done before, be it Gangs of Wasseypur, The Lunchbox or Kick.

Arbaaz Khan who plays a friend, Maksood does a decent job and is great to watch. Amy Jackson is a misfit and rather unwanted element of the film. Why does Bollywood have to cast heroines just for the heck of it! Jas Arora who plays the baddie in the film, tries really hard to be convincing on screen but by the end of the show he fails too.

Seema Biswas does a fantastic job for whatever little time she is seen onscreen. She plays Nawazuddin's foster mother in the film. Then the unexpected happens, Jackie Shroff comes in during the climax and makes a grand fool out of himself.

Raaj Sandhaliya has put in a lot of effort with dialogues, but the poor timing of the actors tend to ruin it all. Songs are forced and doesn't stick to you. Sohail Khan does make an effort, but it remains a half baked cake.

All in all this flick is avoidable atleast at the cinema halls. Wait for this one, to be watched on TV. Say no to piracy!
