FIRST LOOK : Patiala House

BollyCurry presents to you the first look on upcoming drama Patiala House. The film starring Akshay Kumar, Anushka Sharma, Rishi Kapoor and Dimple Kapadia is yet another look at the lives of Indian families living abroad and the constant struggle between the values of the older generation and the modern thinking of the younger members! The film is about the external conflict between a traditional father and a modern son and also about the internal identity conflicts faced by British Indians.

The Kahlon family resides in Patiala House in London run by the iron-fisted patriarch, Bauji (Rishi Kapoor). Bauji is a strict traditionalist that holds onto Indian values and traditions and forces his family to adhere to them as well. On the other hand, his eldest son Parghat Singh Kahlon aka Gattu (Akshay Kumar) dreams of playing Cricket not for India but for England, which he considers his homeland. However, he gives up his dream on the altar of Bauji's biases and runs the family corner shop in Southall. All is supposedly well until he meets the girl of his dreams (Anushka Sharma) who gives him the courage to stand up against Bauji and try to fulfill his dream! The story follows Gattu's journey. Will he be successful in achieving his dream and will his family be there to support him? You'll just have to watch to find out!

The film is directed by Nikhil Advani and produced by Mukesh Talreja from People Tree Films Pvt. Ltd., Bhushan Kumar from T-Series, Akshay Kumar's Hari Om Productions and Bugle Boy Films, It is all set to hit the theatres on February 11, 2011.
