Zubeidaa is a period love story set in 1950's. It is about a son's search for his mother whom he has never seen. Suleman Sheth is a Mumbai based film producer staying with his wife and beautiful daughter Zubeidaa (Karisma Kapoor). Zubeidaa dreams of becoming an actress, but Suleman opposes and get her married to his friend's son. Zubeidaa is forced to take divorce due to an ego hassle between friends when she gives a birth to a baby boy. Rose aunty (Lilette) introduces her to the Maharaja of Fatehpur (Manoj Bajpai) who falls in love with her at the very first sight. Even Zubeidaa falls in love with him, but he is already married to Mandira Devi (Rekha). What happens next is the rest of the story
