About  Tum Bin  (2001)

With TUM BIN, T-Series returns to the film production arena after a sabbatical. The film stars four newcomers ? Priyanshu, Himanshu, Rakesh and Sandali. Shot at the picturesque locales of Canada, the film is directed by Anubhav Sinha, one of the leading music video directors of the country.

Anubhav Sinha describes the film as an emotional journey. "It's an intense love story, which is original to the core. Not inspired by any Hindi or English film," he states.

The director says he could've cast four established stars in the roles essayed by the newcomers, but chose against signing big names. "It's a challenge to deliver a hit without stars. Moreover, the newcomers are even more committed in their approach towards work, since their career depends on that film," he adds.

Anubhav handpicked the four youngsters after screen-testing hundreds of faces. Once chosen, the director rehearsed with them for a complete two months, before he embarked on a marathon shooting schedule in Canada.

"Each one knew much before the shooting commenced, what their character sketch and lines were, which is why they came full prepared on the sets," Anubhav adds.

A brief storyline of the film:

TUM BIN is a conflict between love and logic, conflict between love and destiny, conflict between love and options.

It is a story of Piya (Sandali) who fell in love with someone who shattered her dreams. Piya fell in love with Shekhar (Priyanshu) without ever realising that a cordial, official and a formal relationship with Shekhar grew from reliance to trust, trust to dependence and dependence to love.

Piya fell in love without ever realising that Shekhar had a past. This past, if told, was a sin? it was a crime, a crime that would help many lives.

Enters Abhi (Himanshu) at this stage. Abhi is someone who is God-sent for Piya. But Piya is in love with Shekhar, who carries a dark past with him.

Slated for release on July 13, TUM BIN has lilting music by Nikhil-Vinay and the songs have already caught on in a big way.
