No it was not jyotika, she took over from Trisha.. she was no 1 in Tamil and Telugu that time..

    lats55,

I can uderstand tht u r her fan, but ona diff note, Asin was never no:1...she was one among the top actresses, for sure, but int he year 2005 where her career took a diff turn with ghajini, jyotika stormed in with chandramukhi, and she was the top actress. 2006 was the same, because jyotika had vettayadu vilayadu. asin ahd varalaru, but a movie with kamal hassan''s diff....2007 was nayantara''s, with billa. Just wanetd to clear facts, that''s all:-)

dits, please note that movie Ghajini was a remake from Tamil, and she acted awesome in the orginial version, and one of the interview she pointed out that it was really difficult in acting the dubbing version, as she has to keep the orginial movie version acting in mind.. a.khan approved her after watching the original version as opposite cast.. but people are saying she cannot act, that is not the truth.. i don''t understand these languages tamil and telugu where she is no 1 but watch her movies Pokkiri, Shivakasi.. so good yaar.. also believe me she cannot speak these languages when she acted now she is too fluent.. same is the case with Hindi.. she has given her own voice for all these movies.. Ghajini hindi is nothing in comparison with Tamil version aamir cannot compete with Surya 100%

Asin is very talented.. it is difficult to stay on top in Telgu and Tamil without knowing the language, as they don''t accept outsiders very easily.. you needed to be talented to do so.. of course bhavana too is good

Asi shined in South India, I watched all her tamil movies & she is awesome but right now, as she entered in Bollywood, I am sure she won''t coe back to South movies !!
But as I love Bollywood too, it doesn''t mind !!
Wherever she is, she will rock !!
I will love to see her with King Khan !!

    lats55,
I happen to be a south India, and trust me, i know very well how well she can act!! For em, she''s been nothin other than a glam doll...it has always been big banner, big dir, big her for her and other than ghajini, i haven''t seen any movie of hers where she had to act....and the best debutant award isn''t all tht...anybody can get that..if u check the records, almost every south indian actress''s got the award...bahvana got the best actress award for ehr 1st movie..i think tht''s more commendable. Asin isn''t all tht, and there are many people who agree wid me.

Asin Thottumkal debuted in a supporting role in Sathyan Anthikkad''s unsuccessful Malayalam film Narendran Makan Jayakanthan Vaka in 2001, at the age of 15. After taking a year out to pursue her education, Asin returned with her breakthrough film as an actress, Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi opposite Ravi Teja, portraying a Tamil girl in her first Telugu language film, which subsequently fetched her the Telugu Filmfare Award for Best Actress.[2] In the same year she won the Santosham Best Actress Award for her performance alongside Nagarjuna in her second Telugu film, Shivamani.[2] Her following two Telugu films, Lakshmi Narasimha and Gharshana, both portrayed Asin as the love interest for police officers, giving her two more solid hit films, cementing her place as a leading actress in the Telugu film industry.

Asin''s first Tamil language film was M. Kumaran son of Mahalakshmi, in which she co-starred with Jayam Ravi. Asin reprised her role from her film Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi for the remake, which saw her portraying a Malayali girl instead of the Tamil girl in the original. The movie subsequently went on to...
