Prashant Raj was born on January 9, 1980, in Mumbai. As a youth, he got his education from schools in Delhi and Mumbai. He completed his graduation from Delhi's Sri Venkateswara College.
After completing his studies, Prashant stepped into the world of modelling. His lanky 6ft 2inch frame, intense brooding eyes and his attitude on the ramp made him an accomplished runway model.
Prashant's first print ad was for Benzer in 2000. He was the first runner up in the Grasim Mr. India pageant in 2004. Later, in 2005, he won the title of Mr. Model of the Universe in Quito, Ecuador. Since then he has done print campaigns and ramp shows in India, Sri Lanka and Ecuador.
He has also appeared in music videos and TV shows.
